Parallel expands the boundaries of shower fixture design, engaging with our lifestyle as a piece of furniture rather than a device. It is designed with a folded aluminum sheet casing that boldly traces straight, elegant lines. Yet instead of flaunting its functional agency, it quietly invites objects onto its flat, calm surface. This affordance of resting objects is not only a thoughtful response to user needs but also enables Parallel to gradually loosen its function-driven subjecthood. Through this nuanced transition, it becomes a furniture-like object reminiscent of a shelf, an object that engages in a subtle synergy with the surrounding space.
Parallel reconsiders the product archetype, innovating the shower experience through a novel resonance with both users and space. We believe that this new perspective will establish Parallel as a design classic.
Exposed Affordance
The 2 mm-thick aluminum sheet slightly extends beyond the main body, with exposed rims evoking the material memory of metal in its honesty; the precise, slim contour defines a structured lightness, forming a graceful interplay with the affordance for placing objects.
Composed Intervals
The front panel slips through its fillet into a layered relationship with the top panel, leaving a deep, intriguing gap¹. The buttons are segmented with rhythm, revealing through the gaps the same slim edge as the aluminum sheet. The composition of planes and lines undermines the volume and its agency, continuing the narrative of furniture-like design.

Void and Solid in Dialogue
The aluminum sheet enfolds a solid volume inside, leaving outside excluded as void. The knob positions a subtle presence at such void, forming a juxtaposition with the inner volume to further render a sense of lightness. The temperature display responds to the knob, extending the dialogue between the two sides.
Various Extension Modules
A hidden slot on the left connects a range of modules. Current options include a side rack and the Ambient Light Module. Boldly designed, radically intriguing, they bring novel experiences that extend the narrative of aesthetic lifestyle.
Customize with Blocks
The side rack is lined with studs for building blocks. Hooks, brackets, or decorative elements can be freely arranged, making it more than a rack — a platform for self-expression.
